Aurora House

Working with Therapists and Specialists

Aurora House recognises the importance of working closely with therapists to support pupils, staff and parents to ensure pupils are progressing to their potential. The therapists work very closely with the teachers to plan programs for each pupil, and also model approaches so the class teams can provide continual provision of their therapy programs.

We have a Speech Therapist, Krupa Raga one day a week, and an Occupational Therapist, Eleanor Cockell half a day, who collaborate with each other to provide individual programs that focus on each pupil's needs. The therapists use the SCERTS Model as the basis of their planning and assessment.

An Educational Psychologist, Louise Routledge works closely with the Aurora House team. Louise supports individual pupils, and also provides training and support to staff and families.

Dr Sally Hobson is the school allocated paediatrician, and Natalie Kirton is our school nurse.

If you would like to talk with the therapists or specialists, please contact the school to arrange a meeting.

As the school grows, we will continue to expand our therapy provision to meet the needs of each of the pupils.
